Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Ellic McCrae! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCrae tries to close the distance and clinch but Griffin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Griffin connects with a looping right hand.
McCrae dives in and grabs Griffin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes down on McCrae's head and hops out. Nice takedown defense from Griffin. No joy for McCrae on that attempt. McCrae avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice straight punches there by Griffin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Griffin. A shot to the body from McCrae misses and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Griffin lands a jab-cross combination. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters circle momentarily. Griffin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Griffin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Griffin slips under a jab. A jab lands there for McCrae. McCrae closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McCrae lands in his opponent's guard. Griffin keeping moving, preventing McCrae from controlling successfully. McCrae cracks Griffin with a solid left hand.

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. McCrae pushes down on Griffin's leg and manages to get into half guard. McCrae slips a nice elbow through Griffin's hands, connecting with Griffin's forehead. McCrae has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Griffin is pulling down on McCrae's head to control his posture. McCrae looking to sit in guard and control but Griffin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Griffin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. McCrae is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Griffin is aware though and is defending well. McCrae is looking to work some ground and pound but Griffin has wrist control. McCrae throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McCrae postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McCrae throws a big elbow that misses. Griffin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. McCrae stands up over Griffin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. McCrae working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. McCrae fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Griffin manages to avoid it. Griffin tries to bum rush McCrae with a series of wild strikes but McCrae uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Griffin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McCrae's head backwards. McCrae tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Griffin was well out of range. Poor timing from McCrae. McCrae misses with a looping left. Griffin looks to score with a jab to the body but McCrae is just out of range. Griffin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McCrae at a distance.
