Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cortney Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalton Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cortney Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dalton Bowers!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowers throws a sloppy head kick
and Baker counters with a low kick, right behind Bowers 's knee.

Baker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bowers keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Baker tries to stand and escape but Bowers is controlling the position.
Baker not doing much here.
Bowers is not content to let Baker control the position.
Bowers wants to get back to full guard.

Baker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cortney Baker just wasn't active enough.
Bowers throws a half hearted mid kick.

Bowers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bowers showed some decent athleticism there.

Bowers is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Baker sees it coming and defends easily.
Baker is controlling Bowers's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Bowers wants to control but Baker is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bowers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bowers's back!

Baker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bowers is looking for a sweep. Baker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cortney Baker just wasn't active enough.

Baker drives through and clinches with Bowers against the cage.

Bowers gets control of Baker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bowers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baker shoots in for a double leg but Bowers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Baker shoots in looking for a takedown but Bowers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Baker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bowers uses his free foot to push down on Baker's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Baker.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bowers moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Baker has worked his arm free - good work by Baker!

Baker is trying to get back to his feet.
Baker is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bowers connects with a decent elbow.

Dalton Bowers has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bowers tries to advance to mount but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Baker sneaks back into half guard.

Bowers seems to be working for a kimura but Baker defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dalton Bowers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Baker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Baker rushes Bowers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bowers is trying to push Baker away but Baker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Bowers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Baker smiles and moves away.
Bowers throws a head kick that misses

and Baker moves into the clinch.
Bowers jumps guard but Baker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Baker is trying to pull guard but Bowers has him pressed against the cage.
Baker wants a takedown.
Knees to the body from Bowers.

Baker jumps into guard, dragging Bowers to the mat.

Bowers wants to control from the top but Baker keeps moving.

Bowers decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bowers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bowers misses with a takedown attempt
and Baker counters with a right hand to the body.
Cortney Baker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dalton Bowers.

Baker gets a double leg takedown into Bowers's guard.
Bowers wants to stand up but Baker is controlling him.
Baker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bowers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Baker gets to his feet - Bowers follows without any prompting.

Baker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bowers on his heels. He'll look to pass Bowers's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cortney Baker.

Baker stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Baker moves into range and clinches up with Bowers.
Baker is trying to break the clinch but Bowers has him pressed against the cage.

Bowers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Baker avoids it really well and circles away.
Baker dives in and grabs Bowers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowers pushes down on Baker's head and hops out.

and Baker counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Bowers wriggles free and stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Baker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cortney Baker showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Baker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
