PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter McHaggis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Brunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McHaggis comes into the arena with The Spicy McHaggis Jig blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brunner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McHaggis sprawls well initially but Brunner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

McHaggis shoots and misses

McHaggis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McHaggis throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
McHaggis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brunner manages to get himself to full guard.

Brunner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McHaggis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McHaggis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brunner is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brunner has escaped and now he's on top!

Brunner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McHaggis's guard.

Brunner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McHaggis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

McHaggis is persistently looking for the submission but Brunner is defending it well.

McHaggis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Brunner stacks McHaggis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Brunner!

Well Brunner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
