Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zach Hainer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Downs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hainer kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Diabolic "Frontlines" . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zach Hainer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Guy Downs!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downs misses the shot to the body.
Hainer takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Downs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hainer counters with a body kick that stops Downs in his tracks momentarily.
Downs doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hainer finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Hainer fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Downs tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hainer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Downs somewhat.
Zach Hainer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Downs.
Hainer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Downs with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hainer makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Hainer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Downs.

Downs gets a double leg takedown into Hainer's guard.

Hainer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Downs pushes down on Hainer's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hainer holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Downs is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Downs seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hainer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Downs is working for a kimura but Hainer is defending it quite comfortably.

Hainer is looking for a sweep. Downs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Downs wants to take a breather but Hainer is having none of it.

Downs is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Downs swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hainer is now in Downs's guard. A big mistake from Downs there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Downs is looking for a triangle but Hainer pushes his legs off easily.
Hainer trying to control but Downs is working from the bottom.

Downs has his foot on Hainer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hainer works his way back into a safe position though.

Downs is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hainer frees his head nicely. Oh but Downs has switched to an armbar! Hainer is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
