Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Numero Nueve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kato Munechika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munechika comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Requiem for a Dream kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kato Munechika has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Numero Nueve's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Numero Nueve! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kato Munechika! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munechika throws the left hand but Nueve avoids the punch easily. Munechika swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Nueve avoids the head kick by Munechika.
Nueve shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Munechika is trying to control but can't.
Nueve looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Munechika with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nueve stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Nice sprawl there from Munechika as Nueve shoots in. Nueve swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Munechika misses the shot to the body. Munechika tries to score with a low kick but Nueve moves his leg out of the way. Munechika takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Nueve avoids the body shot from Munechika.
Munechika is looking to chop away at Nueve's legs. Nueve with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munechika misses with a straight right. Munechika attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Munechika misses with an uppercut
and Nueve counters with a takedown into side control. Nueve misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Nueve working the ground and pound from side control. Munechika is trying to control Nueve's posture but Nueve avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nueve is chipping away with strikes.
Munechika tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nueve in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Munechika wants to get back to his feet but Nueve drags him back down. Munechika takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Munechika pushes Nueve away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nueve gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Nueve has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nueve in side control, throwing shots but Munechika defends. Munechika tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nueve wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Nueve has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Munechika is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nueve yanks on the arm and Munechika is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nueve.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Numero Nueve! Numero Nueve decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
