Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damn Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Drake tries to clinch but Hardy moves out of range.
Damn Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drake wants to clinch up but Hardy keeps it at a distance.
Hardy dives in and grabs Drake's left leg, looking for a takedown. Drake pushes down on Hardy's head and hops out.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hardy.

and Drake counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hardy won't be happy with that.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Drake is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hardy is just riding it out for now. Drake eventually gives up the hold.

Francis Drake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Drake accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Drake is pushing down on Hardy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hardy is fighting to maintain full guard but Drake has managed to sneak the leg through.

Well Drake has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
