Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Pelaez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pelaez comes to the cage accompanied by Never gonna give you up-Rick Astley. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Pelaez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Woo! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pelaez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Woo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pelaez keeping full guard, as Woo tries to pass. Woo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pelaez keeping moving, preventing Woo from controlling successfully. Pelaez being controlled here, momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Woo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Woo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pelaez's head. Pelaez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Woo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pelaez working for a triangle but Woo defends it easily.

Woo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pelaez sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woo is trying to control the action in half guard but Pelaez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pelaez tries to get to full guard but Woo has control of the leg. Woo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Woo is trying to work for a kimura but Pelaez is defending well.

Woo gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Pelaez tries to sprawl but Woo drives through with a takedown into half guard. Pelaez is not content to let Woo control the position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Woo connects with a nice short shot to Pelaez's temple. Pelaez is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pelaez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Pelaez tries to roll over but Woo keeps him under control. Woo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pelaez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Woo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pelaez taking some punishment here, with Woo in his half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pelaez is staying active underneath Woo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Woo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pelaez is just riding it out for now. Woo eventually gives up the hold. Pelaez tries to get to full guard but Woo has control of the leg.

Pelaez not allowing Woo to control his hands. Woo trying to get back to his feet but Pelaez is in full control for now. Woo tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Woo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Pelaez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Woo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pelaez. Woo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pelaez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Woo connects with a decent elbow. Woo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pelaez has escaped the position, nice work there. Pelaez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Woo is one step ahead and moves to full mount! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Woo scoring with strikes but Pelaez is staying in there. Woo raining down hammerfists from mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Woo working the ground and pound effectively.
Woo is landing with some decent strikes but Pelaez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Oh Pelaez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A nice elbow there by Woo. Woo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Pelaez badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Woo around the waist but Woo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Woo is the winner by TKO! Woo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
