Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan McGrew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ford Prefect (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prefect has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan McGrew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ford Prefect!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prefect fails with the takedown.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Prefect takes one to the chin there.
Prefect with a lazy takedown attempt
and McGrew counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Prefect changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGrew tries to avoid it but Prefect manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGrew to the ground. McGrew escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dan McGrew has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ford Prefect.

and McGrew counters with a lovely straight right hand!

McGrew connects with a body shot that sends Prefect's belly button to the back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Prefect shoots and misses

McGrew keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The fighters circling - McGrew throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGrew darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
McGrew throws a left and a right that both miss
and Prefect counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McGrew's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGrew is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Prefect is aware though and is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Prefect wants to control from the top but McGrew keeps moving.

Prefect drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Prefect jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

McGrew working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Prefect doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Prefect manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Prefect looking to improve position, pressing down on McGrew's thigh with his hand. McGrew seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Prefect paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Prefect's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! McGrew picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
