The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coach throws a jab but it's blocked by Nguyen.

and Coach counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Coach lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Coach drives through with a takedown into Nguyen's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Coach has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nguyen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Coach is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Coach has escaped and now he's on top!

Coach will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nguyen is looking for a sweep. Coach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Coach stands up out of the half guard.
Nguyen slips a jab and a cross from Coach.
Coach shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nguyen but Nguyen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fight stays on the outside here - Coach looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Coach is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Nguyen is breathing heavily.

Nguyen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Coach is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Nguyen to the mat. Nguyen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Coach stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Nguyen shoots in and drives through. Coach sprawls well.
Nguyen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Coach sprawls well. Coach wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nguyen gets slowly back to his feet.

Coach moves into the clinch successfully.
Coach is pressed up against the cage. Nguyen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Coach down to the mat. Coach avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Coach is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Coach lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nguyen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coach as he jumps to the side.

Coach feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
