Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cullen Castrello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shamar Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Freak on a Leash as his entrance music. Shamar Jackson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cullen Castrello's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cullen Castrello! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shamar Jackson! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson misses with a two punch combination.
A punch lands to the side of Jackson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jackson throws a right and a left that Castrello avoids nicely. Castrello throws a low kick but Jackson moves out of range easily. Castrello listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Castrello looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson gets full guard. Jackson wants to hit a switch here but Castrello passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jackson there! Jackson can't escape the position.
Jackson looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Castrello is trying to stick to Jackson's back but Jackson is turning into Castrello. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Castrello's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jackson. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castrello swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jackson advances position into side control! Castrello is looking for a sweep. Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jackson trying to control the position but Castrello is working away. Jackson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jackson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Castrello is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson tries for a kimura but Castrello is defending well. Jackson swings around for an armbar but Castrello sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jackson's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jackson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jackson is pulling down on Castrello's head to control his posture. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castrello is one step ahead there. Jackson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castrello trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Castrello stopping the sweep attempt from Jackson. Castrello has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Castrello pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now. Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Castrello doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson. Castrello tries to get to full guard but Jackson has control of the leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Castrello defend it? Jackson steps over the head and cranks it - Castrello is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jackson!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shamar Jackson! A relieved looking Shamar Jackson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
