Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Javier Casados! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Crazy Horse! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horse stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Horse wants it to stay on the feet. Nice straight punches there by Horse. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Horse. Casados dives in and grabs Horse's left leg, looking for a takedown. Horse pushes down on Casados's head and hops out. Horse has closed the distance and engaged Casados in a clinch.
Casados tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Casados. That's going to take a lot out of him. Casados misses with a punch on the inside.
Horse has Casados pressed against the cage, preventing Casados from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Casados fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Horse is struggling to control the position. Casados's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Horse wants the takedown. Casados is fighting it off but Horse persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Casados's guard against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Casados is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Horse is aware though and is defending well. Horse gets to his feet. Casados looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. Good exchange - Horse coming out on top. Horse keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That kick from Horse tenderised Casados's leg. Casados is trying to keep his angry face on. Horse misses with a double jab.
Horse lands a nice shot to the body.
Horse scores with a jab to the head.
Casados is rocked! Horse moves into the clinch. Oh Casados is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Horse throws a big uppercut that drops Casados! More strikes from Horse and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Casados lies dazed against the cage as Horse celebrates with his cornermen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Crazy Horse! In his post fight interview, Crazy Horse started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
