Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angus Grundi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angus Grundi will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Kelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Angus Grundi! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grundi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Grundi winds up and cracks Kelly with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Grundi is trying to work for a kimura but Kelly is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kelly is trying to get back to full guard. Grundi is looking for a kimura here.
Kelly actively working from the bottom here. Grundi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kelly defends it well. Grundi is working for a kimura but Kelly is defending it quite comfortably.
Grundi wants to work for an arm triangle but Kelly is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Grundi prevents Kelly from improving his position. Kelly is pressing down on Grundi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Grundi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Kelly throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Grundi scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kelly tries to land a sweep but no joy. Grundi scoring with punches to the head and body. Grundi passes Kelly's left leg - he's now in half guard. Grundi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kelly is just riding it out for now. Grundi eventually gives up the hold. This has been an exciting period of action! Kelly is looking for a sweep. Grundi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grundi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kelly sees it coming and defends easily. Kelly makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kelly. Kelly is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Grundi postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Grundi throws a big elbow that misses. Grundi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Grundi throwing strikes but missing. Grundi working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Grundi pushes down on Kelly's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kelly works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kelly looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Grundi throws a big elbow that misses. Grundi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grundi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Grundi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Grundi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Grundi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kelly's head. Kelly manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Grundi is trying desperately to improve position. Grundi tries to hold on but Kelly pushes him away. Grundi can't escape the position.
Grundi sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Grundi slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Grundi has his hands on Kelly's head, controlling the position. Kelly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grundi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kelly won't allow Grundi to sweep him here. Grundi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kelly's guard. Grundi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Grundi working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kelly is rocked! Grundi arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Kelly's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Angus Grundi!
