Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Zerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Bourdeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Zerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Bourdeau!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourdeau misses with a two punch combination.

Zerra closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bourdeau to the mat! Bourdeau manages to get full guard.
Zerra could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Zerra tries to free his leg and advance position but Bourdeau is retaining full guard.

Bourdeau has control of Zerra's left arm, preventing Zerra from doing any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zerra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bourdeau is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Zerra is fighting to break Bourdeau's control of his arms but Bourdeau is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Andrew Bourdeau wasn't active enough on the ground.
Bourdeau fails with a takedown attempt.

Zerra dives in and scores a takedown into Bourdeau's guard.

Bourdeau is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bourdeau wants to get back to his feet but Zerra is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Andrew Bourdeau was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Zerra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bourdeau moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Bourdeau is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Zerra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bourdeau might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zerra kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Zerra is keen to just control but Bourdeau is a slippery customer.

Bourdeau is looking to escape.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zerra connects with a nice short shot to Bourdeau's temple.
Zerra lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Zerra thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bourdeau's head.

Zerra is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bourdeau!

Bourdeau is bucking up trying to escape but Zerra cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Zerra cracks Bourdeau with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Zerra is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Zerra dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Zerra misses with a straight right.
Zerra uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bourdeau.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bourdeau. Zerra does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bourdeau misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zerra throws a shot from downtown. Bourdeau moves away and avoids it.

Zerra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Zerra takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Donk. Zerra catches Bourdeau right on the button with a cross.
A combination from Zerra does no damage.
Zerra throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bourdeau sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Bourdeau tries to sprawl but Zerra drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Zerra is nestled in close to Bourdeau, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Zerra not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zerra working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Zerra cracks Bourdeau with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
