Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Shankar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skeeter Gator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shankar comes to the cage accompanied by "Buffalo Soldier" by Bob Marley. Gator has chosen Drop it Like its Hot as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Shankar! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Skeeter Gator! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gator shoots in for a takedown but Shankar shows good takedown defense. Gator shoots for a takedown but Shankar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Shankar stuffs the takedown attempt from Gator. Gator gets slowly back to his feet. Andre Shankar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skeeter Gator. Gator fails to land the takedown. Gator closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shankar circles away. Gator is looking to clinch. Gator is looking to clinch but Shankar is avoiding it.
Shankar with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gator shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shankar as he avoids it easily. Shankar throws a right hand that Gator ducks under and follows up with a left that Gator also avoids with ease. Skeeter Gator seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gator. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gator looks gassed! Shankar wants to control but Gator postures up. Gator tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gator has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gator tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Shankar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shankar pushes Gator off and gets back to his feet. Shankar moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Shankar!
Gator is rocked! Shankar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gator is still in real trouble! Can Shankar finish him? Shankar stands and steps away. Gator gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Gator showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Shankar.
Gator seems to have recovered his senses. Shankar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shankar is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Gator shoots and misses and Shankar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gator! Gator is trying to reverse the position but instead Shankar has taken his back - oops! Gator tries to escape the position.
Shankar slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Gator looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Shankar has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Gator wants to escape the position.

Shankar wants to stand but Gator has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Gator looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gator tries to get to full guard but Shankar has control of the leg. Gator actively working from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Shankar decides to stand and escape the position. Shankar with a nice cross. Shankar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gator shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shankar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Gator tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shankar smiles and moves away.
Shankar digs a good body shot into Gator's ribs. Gator takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Shankar lands with a right hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shankar gets the takedown into side control. Shankar decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gator to his feet. Shankar shoots in and bounces Gator off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Come on Gator, up you get! Gator shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Some wild striking there from Shankar.
Gator shoots in looking for a takedown. Shankar tries to sprawl out of it but Gator keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shankar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gator gets caught flat footed, as Shankar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Shankar stands up from guard. Let's bang! Shankar throws a right and a left that both miss. A solid leg kick lands there for Gator.

Gator doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shankar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gator's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Shankar trying to control the position from guard on top but Gator is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shankar stands up from Gator's guard - Shankar perhaps looking for a knockout.

Gator working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shankar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shankar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Andre Shankar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shankar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gator keeps working. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! That looked like it hurt. Shankar thuds his right hand into Gator's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A left and a right from Shankar both land. Nice combination. Gator darts in trying to clinch and Shankar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Gator trying to control but Shankar postures up.
Gator is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Shankar pulls his head out easily. Shankar stands up and beckons Gator to join him on the feet. Shankar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gator can do to turn this around? Both fighters are breathing heavily.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Gator is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shankar is controlling him. That looked like it hurt. A head kick misses from Shankar. Shankar throws a sloppy head kick and Gator moves out of range easily. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Shankar wants to get back to his feet but Gator drags him back down. Shankar gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Shankar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? Gator shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shankar but Shankar pushes him off and we're back to square one. Shankar stalks Gator and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gator's face. Gator staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shankar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gator with a poor takedown and Shankar counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gator is lucky that one didn't land flush. Andre Shankar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skeeter Gator. Gator misses with a takedown attempt - Shankar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gator fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Nice straight punches there by Shankar. Skeeter Gator has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gator is striking but Shankar is not phased and passes to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Andre Shankar showed his dominance in that final round. Well Shankar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
