Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Saint Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Cantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leon Cantrell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saint Bernard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leon Cantrell! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy left from Bernard finds it's target. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Cantrell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cantrell showed some decent athleticism there. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cantrell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! It looks like Cantrell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Leon Cantrell has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Cantrell throws a leg kick which misses Bernard's front leg but catches the back leg as Bernard tries to avoid it. Bernard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cantrell circles away quickly and effectively. Bernard lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bernard moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A jab-cross combination lands for Bernard and sends Cantrell crashing to the mat! Bernard follows him down to the mat - Cantrell regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Cantrell is rocked! Bernard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cantrell is still in real trouble! Can Bernard finish him? Cantrell preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Cantrell seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cantrell is trying to maintain the position but Bernard is very close to passing his half guard. Cantrell is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Cantrell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cantrell lands a decent punch to the body there. Cantrell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bernard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cantrell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cantrell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bernard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bernard tries to get out of the position. Cantrell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bernard sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cantrell landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Cantrell is trying to control. Bernard wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Cantrell performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cantrell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bernard wants to get back to his feet.
Cantrell is trying to control. Bernard wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bernard wants to control but Cantrell is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cantrell is trying to control the action in half guard but Bernard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cantrell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Leon Cantrell was stalling too much, according to the referee. Cantrell drives through and clinches with Bernard against the cage.
Bernard is trying to pull guard but Cantrell has him pressed against the cage. Bernard is breathing heavily. Cantrell tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Bernard has hold of one of Cantrell's legs. Cantrell is fighting the takedown attempt but Bernard gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Cantrell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Cantrell controls Bernard momentarily but Bernard frees himself. Cantrell throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cantrell is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Cantrell keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cantrell is trying to keep Bernard in close.
Cantrell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bernard's guard. Cantrell wants to control from the top but Bernard keeps moving. Cantrell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cantrell trying to control but Bernard is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Cantrell sitting in guard here, content to control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cantrell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bernard, pushing him back against the cage. Cantrell working Bernard over with knees to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Leon Cantrell will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Cantrell is looking to clinch. Cantrell tries to close the distance and clinch but Bernard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bernard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cantrell circles away quickly and effectively. Bernard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Cantrell. Cantrell wants to control but Bernard is keeping him busy. Bernard looking for a sweep but Cantrell has passed into full mount! Oh no! Bernard keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bernard is in a horrible position here. Cantrell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Cantrell content just to control the position here. Leon Cantrell has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard is bucking up trying to escape but Cantrell cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Cantrell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Cantrell has hold of Bernard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bernard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cantrell tries to control but Bernard wriggling away. Bernard tries to buck Cantrell off but he can't manage it. Cantrell controlling his opponent. Cantrell landing punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernard working to try and regain half guard.
The referee warns Bernard that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Cantrell won't let Bernard get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Cantrell controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee warns Bernard that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Cantrell landing strikes from the mount. Bernard is in a horrible position here. Cantrell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Cantrell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bernard taking shots to the head. Cantrell controlling the pace for now. Cantrell looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Bernard takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Cantrell is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bernard can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bernard tries to lock up and control but Cantrell gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bernard trying desperately to get to his feet.
Cantrell with the ground and pound from mount. Cantrell looking to isolate an arm here. Bernard doesn't see it coming and as Cantrell extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Cantrell!
