Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Corpia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Miran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Miran looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Corpia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Miran! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corpia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Corpia showed some decent athleticism there. Corpia wants to take a breather but Miran is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Corpia is looking for a kimura but Miran is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Corpia to get the leverage. Miran manages to escape and get back to his feet! A good leg kick by Corpia. Miran looks winded! Miran closes the distance and clinches up with Corpia, looking for a takedown. Miran pushes Corpia against the cage but Corpia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miran avoids the head kick by Corpia.

Corpia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Corpia clinches with his opponent.
Corpia pulls guard. Miran drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miran jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Corpia tries to land a sweep but no joy. Corpia throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Corpia wants to get back to his feet but Miran is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Corpia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miran on the ground. Miran missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miran postures up.
Corpia is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Miran drops back looking for a leg! Corpia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Corpia manages to kick Miran off! Miran jumps back into Corpia's guard. Miran drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miran jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Miran pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Corpia is keeping the position for now. Corpia is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miran prevents Corpia from getting back to his feet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Corpia throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Corpia is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Alex Corpia just wasn't active enough. Corpia closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Corpia lands in his opponent's guard. Corpia prevents Miran from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corpia trying to control but Miran is working from the bottom. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Corpia tries to stand but Miran is controlling from the bottom. Corpia looking to sit in guard and control but Miran gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miran is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Corpia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Corpia has escaped and now he's on top! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corpia feints and as Miran raises his hands in defense, Corpia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Corpia wants to control from the top but Miran keeps moving. Corpia looking to sit in guard and control but Miran gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Miran has gone for a leg lock! Corpia slips out almost immediately though and dives into Miran's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corpia is looking to stand up but Miran won't let him. Miran is breathing heavily. Corpia drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Miran manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Corpia has Miran in his guard. Corpia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Alex Corpia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Corpia wants to sweep here but Miran controlling him for the moment.

Miran is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Corpia is trying to keep Miran in close.

Miran stands and steps away. Corpia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Corpia tries to clinch but Miran moves away and Miran counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corpia closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Corpia wants to control but Miran is keeping him busy. Corpia wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Miran, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miran is not content to let Corpia control the position. Miran taking a bit of punishment here - Corpia scoring with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Corpia dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Miran gets caught napping as Corpia dives in and scores a takedown. Miran manages to retain guard. Miran keeping moving, preventing Corpia from controlling successfully. Corpia tries to free his leg and advance position but Miran is retaining full guard. Corpia trying to control the position from guard on top but Miran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Alex Corpia wasn't doing enough on the ground. Corpia shoots in and gets a takedown into Miran's guard. Corpia trying to control the position from guard on top but Miran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miran takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Alex Corpia wasn't doing enough on the ground. Corpia closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Miran's guard. Corpia has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miran is proving hard to escape from. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corpia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miran is keeping the position for now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Corpia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fight stays on the outside here - Corpia looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Excellent takedown into side control there by Corpia. Corpia creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Miran sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miran tries to escape but Corpia is in control. Corpia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Corpia tries for a kimura but Miran is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Corpia thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Corpia throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Miran works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Corpia showed his dominance in that final round. Well Corpia has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
