Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fransuave Doobney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Butane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doobney comes into the arena with L_TIz# blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fransuave Doobney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Butane!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doobney forces Butane back against the cage and clinches.

Doobney turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Butane takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Doobney wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Butane, who protects the arm well.
Butane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Doobney decides to stand up, so the ref orders Butane to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doobney fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Butane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Doobney shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Doobney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Butane's head.
Doobney looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Butane blocking the ground and pound attempt from Doobney.
Butane is looking to control Doobney's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Butane avoid being mounted?
Doobney not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Doobney thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Doobney is controlling the pace.
Doobney scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Doobney works his way into side control.
Butane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doobney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Doobney is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Butane has escaped the position, nice work there.

Doobney decides to stand back up. Doobney steps back and let's Butane get back to his feet.
Butane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Doobney.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Butane walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Doobney shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Doobney showed some decent athleticism there.

Doobney lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Doobney tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Butane tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Doobney lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fransuave Doobney dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Butane throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jack Butane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Butane pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Doobney back to the cage. Butane follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Fransuave Doobney has been cut.

Doobney gets a double leg takedown into Butane's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Doobney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doobney slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Doobney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doobney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Butane is looking to improve his position but Doobney isn't that keen on the idea.

Butane is desperately trying to improve his position but Doobney has a good base and remains in mount.

Doobney looking to secure an arm triangle but Butane defends it well.
Doobney is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Butane can do to turn this around?
The referee warns Butane that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Doobney jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Butane is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Butane and Doobney has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Doobney decides to stand back up. Doobney steps back and let's Butane get back to his feet.

and Doobney counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Doobney.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doobney not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Doobney seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Butane for as long as he can get away with.

Butane throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Doobney counters with a shoot takedown. Butane fights it but they end up in guard.
Doobney controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Butane tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Doobney wants to control from the top but Butane keeps moving.
Doobney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We're going to have a standup here because Fransuave Doobney wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Butane throws a series of punches but Doobney avoids them all with ease.

Doobney shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Butane is trying to defend but Doobney finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Doobney wants to take a breather but Butane is having none of it.
Still in half guard, Doobney seems content to control.
Fransuave Doobney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Butane isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Doobney stacks Butane on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Doobney!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Butane can do anything to dispel that myth.
