PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Crillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tug Speedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crillo comes into the arena with Chaiyya Chaiyya blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Crillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tug Speedman!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Speedman misses the target.
Speedman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Crillo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Speedman cracks Crillo with an open hand slap.
Crillo walks into a straight right hand from Speedman.
Nice takedown defense from Speedman. No joy for Crillo on that attempt.
Speedman swings for the body but Crillo moves out of range.
Speedman looks to score with a jab to the body but Crillo is just out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Speedman enables Crillo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Speedman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Crillo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Speedman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Crillo shoots in and bounces Speedman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Speedman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Crillo shoots in looking for a takedown but Speedman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Crillo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Crillo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Speedman.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tug Speedman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Nice uppercut lands for Speedman. That snapped Crillo's head back.

Frank Crillo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Crillo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Speedman defends well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Crillo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Crillo is trying to get an arm triangle but Speedman is defending well.
The strikes coming from Crillo are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Tug Speedman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Speedman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
