PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Slipo Sliper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michu Mitzu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Slipo Sliper has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Slipo Sliper seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slipo Sliper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michu Mitzu!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitzu gets caught flat footed, as Sliper shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sliper drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mitzu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mitzu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mitzu!

Mitzu tries for a kimura but Sliper is defending well.
Sliper is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mitzu is looking to take a break and control but Sliper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mitzu wants to control but Sliper is keeping him busy.
Mitzu is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mitzu wants to control but Sliper is keeping him busy.

Sliper is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mitzu pulls his head out easily.

Mitzu is keen to just control but Sliper is a slippery customer.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michu Mitzu was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mitzu throws a lazy right hand but Sliper sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mitzu shoots in and bounces Sliper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Sliper has his foot on Mitzu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mitzu works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Slipo Sliper will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mitzu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sliper wants to pass the guard but Mitzu is keeping the position.

Sliper is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mitzu is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mitzu has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sliper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mitzu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sliper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mitzu has managed to get both his arms back between Sliper's legs - danger averted.

Mitzu throws a big elbow that misses.

Sliper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mitzu defends it easily.

Sliper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mitzu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mitzu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sliper is proving hard to escape from.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sliper is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mitzu off and has taken his back!

Sliper goes for an armbar but Mitzu turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Mitzu.

Mitzu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mitzu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sliper napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sliper tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mitzu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sliper is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Mitzu is nestled in close to Sliper, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mitzu winds up and cracks Sliper with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mitzu slips a nice elbow through Sliper's hands, connecting with Sliper's forehead.

Mitzu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mitzu lands in his opponent's guard.

Sliper isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mitzu stacks Sliper on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mitzu!

Mitzu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mitzu is looking for a kimura but Sliper is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mitzu to get the leverage.

Mitzu is looking to stand but Mitzu has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mitzu is landing with some decent strikes but Sliper is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mitzu wants to control the pace but Sliper is squirming around nicely.

Mitzu jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sliper manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Sliper is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mitzu defends it well.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Slipo Sliper.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sliper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
