Lipponen comes to the ring accompanied by Rainbow - Man on the Silver Mountain. Shaw has chosen Body Head Bangerz - Can't Be Touched as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lipponen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lipponen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lipponen just misses with a punch to the body.
Shaw scores with a hook to the body. Lipponen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lipponen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lipponen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shaw finds it's way round the side to connect with Lipponen's head.


It looks like Pekka Lipponen has been cut.
Shaw takes a swing at Lipponen's ribcage but misses.
Lipponen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lipponen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shaw moves away.
Lipponen walks into a jab.
Lipponen misses with a double jab
and Shaw counters with a right hand to the body.
Lipponen tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Shaw is able to avoid easily.
Pekka Lipponen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaw moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Shaw lands a jab to the nose.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw throws a shot to the body.

Lipponen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lipponen lands in his opponent's guard.

Lipponen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shaw is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lipponen, into his guard.

Lipponen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lipponen keeping moving, preventing Shaw from controlling successfully.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Lipponen pushes a forearm under Shaw's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Shaw is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
