And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielsen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pinto counters with a left to the body.
Pinto lands a slapping body shot.
Nielsen has his takedown stuffed
and Pinto counters with a series of strikes. Nielsen will be more careful next time no doubt.
Pinto avoids the head kick by Nielsen.
Pinto stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pinto lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Nielsen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Pinto blocks a leg kick.
Pinto lands a really nice looking cross but Nielsen seems unphased.
Pinto has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nielsen tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Pinto takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Pinto moves out of range of the body kick from Nielsen.
Pinto scores with a nice right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Nielsen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pinto breaks from the clinch.
Nielsen seems to have got his legs back now.
Pinto bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nielsen's head backwards.
Nielsen tries for a takedown but Pinto circles away easily
enabling Pinto to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nielsen shoots and misses
and Pinto scores with a counter punch that sends Nielsen to the canvas! Pinto smells blood - he's punishing Nielsen with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Nielsen has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jose Pinto!
