The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ondrus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patrushev manages to avoid it.
Ondrus lands with a cross.

It looks like Sergei Patrushev has been cut.
Ondrus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ondrus digs a good hook to Patrushev's body.
Patrushev has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Patrushev there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice takedown defense from Ondrus. No joy for Patrushev on that attempt.
Patrushev ducks right into an uppercut from Ondrus.
Ondrus lands a nice looking body shot.
Petr Ondrus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ondrus punishes Patrushev's body with a nice straight punch.
Patrushev doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ondrus counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Patrushev looks winded!

Ondrus drops Patrushev with a left right combo! Ondrus follows him down to the ground into side control.

Patrushev is rocked!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ondrus happy to just control the position for now.
Patrushev is still in real trouble! Can Ondrus finish him?
Patrushev is looking to regain half guard here but Ondrus keeps moving and retains side control.
Ondrus staying calm.

Patrushev tries to improve position but can't.
Patrushev seems to have recovered his senses.
Ondrus controlling from side mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ondrus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ondrus tries to move into full mount but can't pass Patrushev's legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Petr Ondrus just wasn't active enough.

Ondrus lands a big shot that drops Patrushev! Can he finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ondrus passes Patrushev's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ondrus content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ondrus in particular looking to stall.
Ondrus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Patrushev is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Petr Ondrus has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Donk. Ondrus catches Patrushev right on the button with a cross.
Patrushev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ondrus's waist but Ondrus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patrushev off to one side.
Petr Ondrus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Patrushev.
Patrushev darts in trying to clinch
and Ondrus counters with a crisp right that sends Patrushev to the canvas! Ondrus follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
