The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edward dives in and grabs Nwachukwu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nwachukwu pushes down on Edward's head and hops out.
Nice uppercut lands for Nwachukwu. That snapped Edward's head back.
Edward closes the distance looking to clinch
and Nwachukwu counters with a good low kick that Edward was not able to check.

Nwachukwu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Edward looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nwachukwu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edward tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nwachukwu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
