Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragon Slayer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikolai Radev! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Radev. That's going to slow Slayer down. Slayer throws a nice outside leg kick. Radev is looking to score with low kicks. Nice jab there from Slayer. Radev lands with a thumping leg kick.
Radev is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Slayer misses with a wild body shot. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Radev checks a leg kick. Radev displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slayer throws out the jab. Radev getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Radev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Slayer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Radev throws a low kick but Slayer avoids it. Slayer throws a hook but Radev blocks it. Radev looks to land a right hand but Slayer moved out of range. Radev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Radev clobbers Slayer with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Slayer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Slayer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Radev.
Slayer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Slayer thows a body shot but no joy. Slayer throws a body punch but Radev moves out of range. Radev tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slayer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Slayer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Slayer looks to score with a jab to the body but Radev is just out of range. Radev lands a leg kick that knocks Slayer off balance momentarily. Radev lands a nice looking body kick. Radev misses with a leg kick and Slayer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Slayer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Radev.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slayer bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A nice leg kick lands there from Radev. Slayer is looking to wear down Radev with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Radev tries to clinch but Slayer moves out of range. Slayer loads up on a big right hand but Radev slips the punch. Radev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slayer's waist but Slayer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Radev off to one side. Radev misses with a left hand and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Radev looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Radev defending well as Slayer loads up on a big left hand. Radev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Radev connects with an inside leg kick. Radev tries to work over Slayer's front leg with a kick but Slayer checks it. A head kick misses from Radev.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Radev has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Radev there as he acknowledges the shot. Nikolai Radev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Radev lands with a right hand. Radev takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Slayer clinches up against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Slayer. Slayer wants a takedown but no success here.
Slayer lands a right hand. Radev doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Slayer has Radev pressed against the cage, preventing Radev from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Radev breaks the clinch.
Slayer lands a nice looking body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Radev misses with a takedown and Slayer counters with a nice uppercut. Dragon Slayer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikolai Radev. Radev takes one to the chin there.
It looks like Nikolai Radev has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slayer scores with a nice right hand.
Radev is rocked! Slayer moves into the clinch. Radev is still on wobbly legs! Can Slayer finish him? Slayer dips a shoulder and cracks Radev with a mighty uppercut! Radev falls back against the cage and Slayer unloads with a barrage of strikes! Radev is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Slayer screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dragon Slayer! A very excited looking Dragon Slayer made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
