Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ace Thompkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Smit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompkins comes into the arena with Ghostbusters blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompkins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Smit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thompkins tries to avoid it but Smit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thompkins to the ground. Thompkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smit dodges the punch combination from Thompkins.
Smit fails with a takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from Thompkins.
Thompkins fails to land with a series of punches.
Thompkins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Thompkins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smit moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thompkins throws a nice looking combination but Smit bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smit closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Smit in side control lands a decent elbow.
Thompkins tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Smit has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Thompkins.

Smit lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Thompkins is trying to stand back up.
Thompkins breaks Smit's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Smit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thompkins is one step ahead there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smit will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Thompkins wants to pass the guard but Smit is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Thompkins looking for a sweep but Smit has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Thompkins is breathing heavily.
Thompkins tries to buck Smit off but he can't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thompkins tries to hold on but Smit pushes him away.
Thompkins is in a horrible position here. Smit smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Thompkins keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smit cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Smit is landing with some decent strikes but Thompkins is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jan Smit dominated that round.
That's time! Thompkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Thompkins gets caught flat footed, as Smit shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Thompkins is looking for a triangle but Smit pushes his legs off easily.
Smit postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Smit is standing up over Thompkins. Thompkins looks to escape but Smit dives into side control.
Thompkins pushes Smit away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smit gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Thompkins is trying to work for a sweep but Smit has mounted him!
Smit has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smit cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The referee warns Thompkins that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Smit pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Thompkins sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Smit scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Smit is nestled in close to Thompkins, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Smit moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Thompkins.
Smit in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Thompkins wants to stand and escape but Smit is having none of it.
Thompkins looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Thompkins wants to get back to his feet but Smit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Thompkins wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Smit manages to pass to side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Thompkins is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Smit's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Smit missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Thompkins wants to get back to full guard.
Thompkins pushes Smit off looking to stand but Smit dives back in and keeps control.
Thompkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smit is working away from the top position though.

Jan Smit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Thompkins wants to stand up but Smit has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Smit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smit accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Smit stands up over Thompkins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Smit stands up and waves to Thompkins to follow him.

Thompkins shoots in but Smit avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smit looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Thompkins is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Smit jumps into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thompkins's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Thompkins is bucking up trying to escape but Smit cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Smit fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Smit looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Ace Thompkins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Smit breaks from Thompkins's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Jan Smit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Smit winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
