Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Sorrowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sorrowe has chosen Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll (A-Trak remix) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira clinches.
Sorrowe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oliveira moves to clinch but Sorrowe breaks away
letting Sorrowe counter with a right hand.
Oliveira tries to clinch
and Sorrowe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sorrowe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Oliveira's head backwards.
Sorrowe scores with a hook to the body. Oliveira takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Nice uppercut there from Sorrowe.
Oliveira fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oliveira moves to clinch but Sorrowe breaks away
and Sorrowe counters with a nice uppercut.

and Sorrowe counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sorrowe. Oliveira does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Sorrowe counters with a straight right hand.

Oliveira tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sorrowe is able to avoid easily.

enabling Sorrowe to counter with a crisp jab.
Sorrowe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oliveira to the mat! Oliveira manages to get full guard.
Sorrowe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Oliveira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sorrowe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sorrowe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Oliveira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sorrowe controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sorrowe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oliveira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oliveira is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sorrowe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliveira swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oliveira manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sorrowe manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oliveira slips nicely into half guard.
Oliveira is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sorrowe has his hands clasped together around Oliveira's back. He's all about the action.

Oliveira wants to work for an arm triangle but Sorrowe is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose Oliveira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sorrowe fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Oliveira on the side of the head.

Sorrowe loads up on a big right hand but Oliveira slips the punch.

so Sorrowe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jose Oliveira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sorrowe pushing down on Oliveira's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oliveira has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Sorrowe. Oh but Oliveira has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Sorrowe goes limp - he's gone! Oliveira jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
