The crowd seem to be enjoying Takaki's choice of entrance music: Mahavishnu Orchestra - Meeting Of The Spirits. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Takehiko Takaki!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Takaki ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Takaki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Steel.

Nice uppercut lands for Steel. That snapped Takaki's head back.

Steel closes the distance and clinches up with Takaki, looking for a takedown. Steel pushes Takaki against the cage but Takaki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Takaki keeps Steel at a distance using the push kick.
Steel is breathing heavily.

Takaki lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Steel at a distance.
Steel walks into a left hand.
Takaki throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Takaki lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Takaki moves into the clinch.
Steel is trying to force a seperation but Takaki has the dominant position.
Takaki working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Takaki tries a body shot but Steel blocks it.
Takaki lands a right hand that snaps the head of Steel backwards.

Steel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steel misses with a double jab
and Takaki counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Takaki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Takaki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Steel.
Steel swings widly with a right hand
and Takaki counters with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A left lands for Takaki.
Takaki is looking to slow Steel down with leg kicks.
Takaki works Steel's body with a nice hook.
Takaki lands a nice shot to the body.
Takaki cracks a nice hook into Steel's ribs.
Takaki wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Takaki scores with a leg kick.
Steel gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Steel swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Takaki.
Takaki moves out of range of the leg kick from Steel.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Steel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Takaki - the referee stops the clock and Steel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Takaki. Steel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Takaki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Takaki feints and then cracks Steel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Steel down.
Steel takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Takaki scores with a head kick. Steel tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Both fighters circling a little - Takaki finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Takaki lands a jab.
Takaki lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Takaki.


Steel is rocked!


It looks like Chuck Steel has been cut.
Takaki throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Takaki shoots in looking for a takedown. Steel tries to sprawl out of it but Takaki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Steel takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Takaki connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Steel momentarily.
Steel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Takaki is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Steel rather than just go for the knockout.
Takaki thows a body shot but no joy.
Steel connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Steel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Steel throws a right hand that Takaki ducks under and follows up with a left that Takaki also avoids with ease.
Steel walks into a left hand.
Takaki looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Takaki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Steel on his heels. He'll look to pass Steel's guard now, I'm sure.
Steel has momentary wrist control but Takaki slips an elbow through the middle.
Takaki looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Steel is looking to stand up but Takaki isn't so interested in that idea.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Steel will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Well, if Takaki is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Steel tries to keep at a distance but Takaki has taken the fight into the clinch.

Steel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Steel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Steel misses with a looping left.
Chuck Steel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Takaki moves out of range of the leg kick from Steel.
Takaki comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Takaki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Steel.
Steel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of Steel 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Takaki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Steel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Steel throws a hook but Takaki blocks it.

Takaki has closed the distance and engaged Steel in a clinch.
Takaki throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Takaki digs a right hand underneath Steel's ribcage. Steel let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Takaki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Takaki pushes Steel against the cage. Takaki is working some dirty boxing. Takaki pushes off with a quick right hook! Steel goes down! Steel tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Takaki moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takehiko Takaki!
Takehiko Takaki decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
