Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ban-Ki Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 3, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogelio Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim connects with an inside leg kick.
Kim moves in looking to clinch but Rodriguez pushes him off.
Kim lands a leg kick that knocks Rodriguez off balance momentarily.
Rodriguez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kim.
Rodriguez tries to clinch up
and Kim counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rodriguez is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Rodriguez clinches up with Kim and pushes him back against the cage.

Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kim swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kim is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rodriguez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kim to the mat. Kim regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Kim throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

With the fighters up against the cage, Kim throws an elbow but misses.
Kim tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Rodriguez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kim gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kim as he jumps to the side.
Ban-Ki Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rogelio Rodriguez.

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kim but Kim pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
