Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tibor Nagy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ari Cavanhas!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagy lands a body shot.
Cavanhas takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nagy jabs Cavanhas right on the nose. Cavanhas blinks but takes it well.


It looks like Ari Cavanhas has been cut.
Nagy looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cavanhas looks to clinch
and Nagy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tibor Nagy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nagy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cavanhas's calf.

Nagy pushes Cavanhas up against the cage in a clinch.
A hook to the body from Nagy.
Nagy digs a right hand underneath Cavanhas's ribcage. Cavanhas let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Cavanhas successfully pulls guard.
Nagy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Nagy wants to get up but he can't break Cavanhas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Nagy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Cavanhas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Nagy lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Cavanhas or not.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is keeping an eye on Nagy - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Nagy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cavanhas. Cavanhas circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Cavanhas on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nagy connects with a body shot that sends Cavanhas's belly button to the back.
Nagy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cavanhas on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Nagy. Nagy obviously looking to wear him down.

Nagy lands a big right hand that sends Cavanhas crashing to the mat! Nagy stays standing though and waves Cavanhas back to his feet!


Cavanhas is rocked!


That has opened up Ari Cavanhas's cut even more.
Cavanhas has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nagy.
Cavanhas is still on wobbly legs! Can Nagy finish him?
Nagy throws an uppercut from hell that sends Cavanhas clean off his feet! He's out cold! Nagy stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tibor Nagy!
In his post fight interview, Tibor Nagy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
