And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tirawit Kokin!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minowa shoots for a takedown but Kokin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Minowa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Minowa misses with a double jab.
Kokin lands a lovely overhand right.
Minowa misses with a hook
and Kokin counters with a body kick.
Kokin stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ikuhisa Minowa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kokin avoids the body shot from Minowa.
Kokin lands with an overhand left.

Minowa is trying to drag Kokin to the mat but Kokin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kokin has Minowa pressed against the cage, preventing Minowa from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Kokin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kokin lands a nice hook to Minowa's body. Minowa takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kokin moves in looking to clinch but Minowa pushes him off.
Minowa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kokin as he jumps to the side.
Tirawit Kokin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Minowa throws a looping overhand right but Kokin ducks down to avoid it.
Minowa misses with a double jab.
Kokin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kokin lands a right hook to the body.
Minowa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kokin as he jumps to the side.
Kokin misses with a series of wild punches.

Kokin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Minowa throws out the jab.
Minowa blocks a head kick by Kokin.
Minowa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kokin swivels and escapes.
Minowa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kokin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Minowa.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kokin - that will leave a mark!
Minowa is breathing heavily.
Kokin scores with a nice strike.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kokin.

Kokin closes the distance and clinches.
Kokin tries a knee to the head but Minowa blocks it.

Kokin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Minowa throws a looping overhand right but Kokin ducks down to avoid it.
Nice straight punches there by Kokin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kokin.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kokin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Kokin closes the distance and clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Minowa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kokin has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Minowa fails with a takedown attempt.
Kokin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Minowa.
Minowa's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Minowa duly obliges.
Minowa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kokin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Minowa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A nice combination there by Kokin.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kokin misses with a double jab.
Tirawit Kokin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That kick from Kokin tenderised Minowa's leg. Minowa is trying to keep his angry face on.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Minowa. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Good leg kick by Kokin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kokin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Minowa manages to avoid it.
Minowa tries for a takedown but Kokin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Minowa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Minowa on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A good leg kick by Kokin.
Kokin scoring well with a low kick there.
Tirawit Kokin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kokin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Minowa shoots for a double leg takedown but Kokin sprawls well. He's pushed Minowa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kokin cracks Minowa with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Kokin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Minowa's knee momentarily.

Kokin moves into the clinch successfully.
Still in the clinch, Kokin scores with a nice short uppercut.
Kokin lands a body shot in the clinch.
Minowa wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kokin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Minowa goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kokin prevents it.
Minowa takes a knee to the side of the body.
Kokin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kokin lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Kokin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tirawit Kokin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sloppy strikes from Kokin. Those never looked like landing.
Kokin throws a right hand that Minowa ducks under and follows up with a left that Minowa also avoids with ease.
Minowa closes the distance and clinches up with Kokin, looking for a takedown. Minowa pushes Kokin against the cage but Kokin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Kokin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Minowas head.
Minowa is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Kokin presses Minowa against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Minowa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kokin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Minowa throws a jab but it's blocked by Kokin.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Minowa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kokin sprawls well. Kokin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Minowa gets slowly back to his feet.

Minowa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Kokin scores with a push kick.
Minowa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kokin works the jab nicely.
Minowa takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Minowa throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kokin counters with a good low kick that Minowa was not able to check.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice takedown defense from Kokin. No joy for Minowa on that attempt.

Kokin throws a head kick that half lands.
Kokin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Minowas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kokin lands a nice looking body shot.

Minowa takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kokin scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Minowa is rocked!
Kokin throws a leg kick which misses Minowa's front leg but catches the back leg as Minowa tries to avoid it.
Oh Minowa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Minowa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Minowa takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Minowa looks up at the clock. Bad move! Kokin lands a right hand from hell, dropping Minowa. Kokin pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tirawit Kokin!
