Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuckie Robbert! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Garcia waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Robbert. Robbert tests Garcia's chin there with a solid looking shot. Garcia throws a looping overhand right but Robbert ducks down to avoid it. Robbert connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Garcia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Garcia throws out a loose jab but Robbert uses good head movement to avoid it. Garcia falls off balance throwing a combination
and Robbert counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Miguel Garcia has been cut. Some wild striking there from Robbert.

Garcia is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Garcia on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Oh Garcia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Robbert throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Robbert tries to close the distance and clinch but Garcia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Garcia seems to have got his legs back now. Robbert gets a double leg takedown into Garcia's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Garcia looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Robbert slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Robbert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Robbert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard. Garcia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robbert can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Garcia is breathing heavily. Robbert stands up over Garcia, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Garcia keeping moving, preventing Robbert from controlling successfully. Robbert wants to stand but Garcia has a closed guard, so he can't escape. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Robbert accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robbert wants to stand but Garcia is controlling his posture from full guard. Robbert slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Robbert wants to stand but Garcia has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chuckie Robbert wasn't active enough on the ground. A big left from Garcia misses. Garcia uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Robbert has time to react. Garcia throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Robbert shoots in looking for a takedown. Garcia tries to sprawl out of it but Robbert keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Garcia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Horrible takedown by Robbert or perhaps it was just good defense by Garcia which made him look bad.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Miguel Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuckie Robbert. Robbert misses with a takedown attempt - Garcia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Some wild striking there from Robbert.
Garcia misses with a wild body shot. A decent looking cross lands there for Garcia. Garcia misses with a looping right. Robbert shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Garcia as he jumps to the side. Robbert is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Garcia just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Robbert has gone limp and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Miguel Garcia! During a confident post fight interview, Miguel Garcia thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
