Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcin Snopek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcin Snopek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Jackson! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson with a nice cross. Jackson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Snopek was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Snopek working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jackson. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jackson postures up.
Snopek is looking to stand up but Jackson isn't so interested in that idea. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jackson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Snopek is trying to keep Jackson in close.
Jackson pushes down on Snopek's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snopek tries to kick Jackson off but Jackson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Jackson lands strikes from half guard. Snopek tries to get to full guard but Jackson has control of the leg. Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Snopek's head. Snopek has hold of Jackson's hands but Jackson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Jackson throwing shots but Snopek is blocking nicely. Jackson working over Snopek with some ground and pound. Snopek looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Snopek makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Snopek.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Snopek has wrist control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Snopek looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
Snopek is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jackson defends well. Snopek is breathing heavily. Jackson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jackson is working Snopek over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Snopek utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson postures up and lands a big shot to Snopek's brow. Snopek working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jackson. Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Snopek is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jackson is aware though and is defending well. Snopek has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though. Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Jackson distracts Snopek with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jackson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jackson passes into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jackson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Jackson drops an elbow to the side of Snopek's head. Jackson is nestled in close to Snopek, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Snopek on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Snopek blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jackson. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snopek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jackson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! It looks like Jackson is going to stand back up.
Jackson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Jackson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jackson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jackson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Jackson gets caught napping as Snopek dives in and scores a takedown. Jackson manages to retain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snopek accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jackson looking to control.
Snopek postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jackson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Jackson. Jackson scores with a nice right hand.
Snopek shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Snopek!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson scoring with strikes but Snopek is staying in there. Snopek is looking to get to half guard. Jackson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Snopek can't escape the position.
Jackson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson with a couple of short strikes. Snopek is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
