Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shuten Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuten Demon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ron Aldo!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo misses with an uppercut. Demon saw that one coming.
Demon slips under a jab from Aldo.
Aldo misses with a lunging right hand

and Demon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Aldo trying to keep a closed guard but Demon is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Demon's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Demon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Demon gets to his feet - Aldo follows without any prompting.

Demon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Demon showed some decent athleticism there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Aldo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Demon is working away from the top position though.
Aldo tries to roll over but Demon keeps him under control.
Demon wants to pass the guard but Aldo is defending well.
Demon uses his free foot to push down on Aldo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Aldo.

Demon is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Aldo is surviving well by controlling Demon's body position as best he can.
Aldo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Demon is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Aldo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Demon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Aldo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Aldo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Aldo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Demon cracks Aldo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Aldo is trying to escape the mount.
Demon lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
BOOM! Demon connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Aldo is in a horrible position here. Demon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Aldo is bucking up trying to escape but Demon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Aldo tries to lock up and control but Demon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Aldo is trying to escape the mount.
Aldo tries to hold on but Demon postures up.
Demon looking to control and managing it successfully.

Aldo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Demon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Aldo tries to lock up and control but Demon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Demon avoids the attempt from Aldo to control.
Demon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Aldo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aldo throws out a loose jab but Demon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Demon drives through with a takedown into Aldo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Aldo gets caught flat footed, as Demon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Aldo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Demon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Aldo loads up on a big right hand but Demon slips the punch.

Demon moves into range and clinches up with Aldo.

Aldo tries to pull guard but Demon won't allow it.

Demon has hold of one of Aldo's legs. Aldo is fighting the takedown attempt but Demon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Aldo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Demon trying to control the position from guard on top but Aldo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Demon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We're going to have a standup here because Shuten Demon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Aldo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ron Aldo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Demon wants to clinch.

Demon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Aldo is looking for a sweep. Demon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Demon seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Aldo has recovered full guard.
Aldo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Demon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Demon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Aldo on his heels. He'll look to pass Aldo's guard now, I'm sure.

Aldo controls Demon momentarily but Demon frees himself.
Demon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ron Aldo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Aldo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Demon pinned against the cage. Demon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aldo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shuten Demon dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Aldo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Demon at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Aldo.
Aldo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demon as he avoids it easily.
Aldo tests Demon's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Aldo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Demon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Aldo!

Demon is taking a breather. Aldo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Demon is looking to stall here but Aldo recovers full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Shuten Demon wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Demon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Aldo to the mat! Aldo manages to get full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Aldo is trying to keep Demon in close.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Demon trying to control but Aldo is working from the bottom.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Shuten Demon.

Ron Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Demon walks into a jab.
Aldo pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Demon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aldo, pushing him back against the cage.

Aldo pulls Demon into guard.
Aldo is trying to control the position but Demon postures up.
Ron Aldo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Aldo has a closed guard, preventing Demon from standing up.
Demon content to stall in guard here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ron Aldo wasn't active enough on the ground.
Aldo throws a hook to the side of Demon's head but Demon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Aldo throws a shot from downtown. Demon moves away and avoids it.
Aldo cracks a nice hook into Demon's ribs.
Demon wants to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Demon drives through with a takedown into Aldo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shuten Demon.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Demon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
