Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reynold Blanco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Noel Jackson! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jackson there as he acknowledges the shot. Blanco lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jackson at a distance.
Jackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Blanco throws a body punch but Jackson moves out of range. Jackson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Nice takedown defense from Blanco. No joy for Jackson on that attempt. Blanco lands an overhand right. Jackson dives in and grabs Blanco's left leg, looking for a takedown. Blanco pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out. Reynold Blanco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noel Jackson. Blanco fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice uppercut lands for Blanco. That snapped Jackson's head back.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt. Jackson fails to land the takedown. Jackson shoots for a takedown but Blanco saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jackson looks winded! Jab from Blanco. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blanco as he jumps to the side. Blanco feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jacksons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice combination there by Blanco.
Blanco fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jackson to the ground. Blanco is now in Jackson's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Blanco pushes down on Jackson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Blanco lands strikes from half guard. Blanco looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Jackson pushes Blanco off looking to stand but Blanco dives back in and keeps control.
Blanco with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blanco trying to control the pace. Jackson is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reynold Blanco has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Blanco gets the takedown into side control. Blanco working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Blanco tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blanco has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Jackson tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Jackson is looking to get back to his feet here but Blanco is keeping cool and he's managed to take Jackson's back. Jackson is trying to get back to his feet but Blanco has full control of the position and if anything, Jackson has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Blanco tries to get the hooks in deep but Jackson pushed the leg off. Blanco is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Blanco connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Jackson to escape the position.
Jackson is having to fend off submission attempts from Blanco, who is looking to sink in the choke. Blanco doesn't have the hooks in though and Jackson manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blanco controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blanco utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Blanco looking for a sweep. Not yet Blanco, not yet. Jackson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blanco's guard. Blanco throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson is looking to stand up but Blanco won't let him. Blanco wants to sweep but no luck. Blanco trying to strike off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reynold Blanco dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Blanco bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Blanco is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Jackson shoots in for a double leg but Blanco sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Blanco lands with a shot to the body. Reynold Blanco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Blanco checks it well. Blanco bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Blanco digs a good body shot into Jackson's ribs. Jackson tries to sprawl but Blanco drives through with a takedown into half guard. Blanco wants to free his trapped foot but Jackson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Blanco moves nicely into side control. Jackson is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Blanco take his back! Uh oh - Blanco has got a rear naked choke here! Jackson is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Reynold Blanco! A less than humble Reynold Blanco misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
