Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Issot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balboa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Radioactive. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Issot is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Balboa's half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Issot trying to control from half guard but Balboa is working away.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Balboa has eaten all the pies!
Balboa trying to control but Issot postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Issot tries to pass the half guard into mount. Balboa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Issot trying to control the action but Balboa is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Darren Issot.
Issot looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Issot decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Balboa's guard.

Balboa misses with a takedown attempt - Issot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Balboa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Issot sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Balboa somewhat.
Darren Issot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Balboa.
Issot shoots in looking for a takedown but Balboa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Issot's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Balboa closes the distance and clinches up with Issot, looking for a takedown. Balboa pushes Issot against the cage but Issot circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Issot swings wildly with an uppercut but Balboa uses good head movement to avoid it.

Issot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Balboa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Issot has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balboa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Balboa dives in and grabs Issot's left leg, looking for a takedown. Issot pushes down on Balboa's head and hops out.
Issot tries to clinch there but Balboa circles away.
Issot takes a swing at Balboa's ribcage but misses.
Issot shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Issot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
It looks like Issot is going to stand back up.
Issot slips a nice elbow through Balboa's hands, connecting with Balboa's forehead.

Balboa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Balboa is not content to let Issot control the position.
Issot takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Issot drops an elbow to the side of Balboa's head.
Issot is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Issot stalling away here and it's allowed Balboa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Issot not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We're going to have a standup here because Darren Issot wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Issot moves into the clinch successfully.
Issot fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A frustrated look appears on Issot's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Balboa manages to break the clinch.
Issot throws a sloppy head kick
and Balboa counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Issot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Balboa is fending him off so far but Issot persists. Nope, Balboa circles away and we're back to standing.
Issot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Balboa is pressing down on Issot's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Balboa controls Issot momentarily but Issot frees himself.

Issot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balboa as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Balboa or perhaps it was just good defense by Issot which made him look bad.
Issot feints and as Balboa raises his hands in defense, Issot changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Balboa is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Issot is staying active.
Issot postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Balboa looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Issot is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Balboa has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Balboa!

Balboa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Issot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Balboa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Issot swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Balboa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Issot has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Balboa has managed to get both his arms back between Issot's legs - danger averted.
