The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herberg drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kamiya is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Herberg is controlling him well.

Kamiya looks to land a right hand but Herberg moved out of range.

Herberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kamiya tries to avoid it but Herberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kamiya to the ground. Kamiya escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Herberg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Herberg lands in his opponent's guard.
Kamiya has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Herberg off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kamiya motions for Herberg to come forward. Kamiya throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Kamiya fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Herberg manages to avoid it.
Herberg drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Herberg goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Herberg lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kamiya or not.

Kota Kamiya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Herberg.
Kamiya escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kamiya's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Kamiya pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A nice inside leg kick there by Kamiya. That's going to slow Herberg down.
Herberg shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kamiya sprawls well. Kamiya wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Herberg gets slowly back to his feet.
Kamiya comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

No luck for Herberg with that takedown attempt.
Kamiya does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Herberg wants to clinch up but Kamiya keeps it at a distance.
Herberg shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kamiya defends it nicely.
Kamiya gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Herberg to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kamiya will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
