Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Jamesion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pozar Pozar!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pozar loads up on a big right hand but Jamesion slips the punch.
Pozar throws a hook but Jamesion blocks it.
Pozar scores with a jab to the head.
Pozar misses with a left hand

and Jamesion holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pozar wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pozar has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jamesion stalling in the clinch.
Jamesion lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Jamesion jumps into guard, dragging Pozar to the mat.
Pozar wants to stand but Jamesion has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jamesion looking for a guillotine here but Pozar defends easily.
Jamesion looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Pozar trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jamesion's guard.

Jamesion looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jamesion working for a triangle but Pozar defends it easily.
Pozar stops Jamesion from standing up.
Pozar wants to stand but Jamesion has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pozar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jamesion pulls Pozar in close to prevent any damage.

Pozar is looking to stand up but Jamesion won't let him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jamesion is chipping away with strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jamesion stands up and beckons Pozar to his feet.
Pozar throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Jamesion counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pozar!

Pozar defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jamesion.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pozar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Pozar tries to buck Jamesion off but he can't manage it.

Jamesion has control of Pozar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pozar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jamesion lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pozar swings widly with a right hand

and Jamesion counters with a shoot takedown. Pozar fights it but they end up in guard.
Pozar is looking to stand up but Jamesion isn't so interested in that idea.

Jamesion prevents Pozar from getting back to his feet.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jamesion might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pozar is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Jamesion.

Pozar gets caught flat footed, as Jamesion shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jamesion drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jamesion jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mark Jamesion overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pozar wants to stand and escape but Jamesion is having none of it.

We're going to have a standup here because Mark Jamesion wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Jamesion is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jamesion advances to full mount.
Pozar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jamesion. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jamesion is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pozar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jamesion lands a big elbow.
Jamesion content just to control the position here.
Pozar wants to get back to his feet.
Jamesion takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jamesion is landing with some decent strikes but Pozar is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jamesion cracks Pozar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Jamesion won't let Pozar get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Pozar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jamesion is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pozar is surviving well by controlling Jamesion's body position as best he can.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pozar misses with a hook

and Jamesion counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Jamesion is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pozar doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jamesion.
Jamesion is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Jamesion is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pozar can do to turn this around?

Pozar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pozar has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Pozar is trying to stand back up.

Jamesion is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Pozar has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Jamesion has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Pozar taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Jamesion doesn't care though - he's delighted!
