Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricardo Ramirez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rustam Yatsenko! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Yatsenko. Yatsenko fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ramirez checks it well. Ramirez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Yatsenko catches Ramirez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Yatsenko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ramirez. Ramirez throws a hook but Yatsenko blocks it. Nice uppercut there from Ramirez. Yatsenko misses with a leg kick and Ramirez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ramirez blocks the body kick.

A swing and a miss from Ramirez. Yatsenko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ramirez. Yatsenko chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ramirez throws a lazy right hand but Yatsenko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A big left from Ramirez misses. Yatsenko throws a low kick but Ramirez avoids it. Ramirez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Yatsenko to score with a decent uppercut. Yatsenko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ramirez misses with a hook. Yatsenko ducked under it nicely. No luck for Ramirez with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez jabs Yatsenko right on the nose. Yatsenko blinks but takes it well. Yatsenko moves away from the strike by Ramirez. Yatsenko connects with an inside leg kick. Yatsenko throws a quick inside leg kick. The crowd cheers as Yatsenko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ramirez doesn't seem phased though. Ramirez dives in and grabs Yatsenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yatsenko pushes down on Ramirez's head and hops out. Ramirez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Ramirez throws a shot from downtown. Yatsenko moves away and avoids it. A chopping leg kick lands by Yatsenko. Ramirez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yatsenko misses with a leg kick. Ramirez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Yatsenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ramirez moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A leg kick checked by Ramirez. Ramirez misses with a straight right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yatsenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Yatsenko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ramirez. Yatsenko fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ramirez. Yatsenko moves out of range as Ramirez strikes. Yatsenko throws a nice outside leg kick. Yatsenko throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Yatsenko connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ramirez momentarily.
Ramirez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Yatsenko throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Nice uppercut lands for Yatsenko. That snapped Ramirez's head back.

Ramirez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Yatsenko. Rustam Yatsenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Yatsenko scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Ramirez throws a lazy right hand but Yatsenko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A good leg kick by Yatsenko.

Yatsenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A telegraphed right hand from Ramirez misses the target. Ramirez looks to land a left hand but Yatsenko moved out of range nicely. A big left from Ramirez misses. Ramirez checks the leg kick. Yatsenko misses with a head kick.

Yatsenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Yatsenko lands a lovely overhand right. A big left from Ramirez misses. Ramirez misses with a straight left.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ramirez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Yatsenko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ramirez's knee momentarily. Ramirez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Yatsenko slips under a jab. Ramirez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yatsenko defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramirez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Ramirez tries to clinch up but Yatsenko circles away and keeps his distance. Yatsenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Yatsenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ramirez tries to close the distance and clinch but Yatsenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yatsenko throws a low kick but Ramirez moves out of range easily. Yatsenko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ramirez. Ramirez is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Ramirez scores with a jab. Yatsenko ducks under a wild hook from Ramirez. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rustam Yatsenko will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Ramirez misses with a straight right. Ramirez is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Yatsenko slips a straight right by Ramirez. Ramirez thows a left - swing and a miss! Yatsenko scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Ramirez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yatsenko was covering up waiting for the punch and Ramirez finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ramirez is fighting to break Yatsenko's control of his arms but Yatsenko is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Yatsenko is keeping the position. Yatsenko lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ramirez! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yatsenko trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ramirez tries to reverse the position but Yatsenko maintains control. Ramirez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Yatsenko looking to control and managing it successfully. Ramirez can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez is desperately trying to improve his position but Yatsenko has a good base and remains in mount. Ramirez is squirming around, avoiding Yatsenko's attempts to control the action. Ramirez sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Ramirez is refusing to be controlled, as Yatsenko sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rustam Yatsenko wasn't active enough on the ground. Yatsenko pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Yatsenko tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rustam Yatsenko will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

A punch lands to the side of Ramirez 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ramirez closes the distance and clinches. Ramirez takes a knee right on the jaw!
Ramirez is looking to break free of the clinch but Yatsenko has double underhooks. Ramirez breaks from the clinch.

Yatsenko slips a straight right by Ramirez. Ramirez throws a jab but it's blocked by Yatsenko. Ramirez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ramirez with the ground and pound but Yatsenko uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yatsenko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ramirez manages to get himself to full guard.

Yatsenko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ramirez keeping moving, preventing Yatsenko from controlling successfully. Ramirez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ramirez has his foot on Yatsenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yatsenko works his way back into a safe position though. Ricardo Ramirez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Yatsenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ramirez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ramirez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ramirez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Ramirez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Ramirez thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Ramirez looking to ground and pound but Yatsenko is blocking nicely. Ramirez unloading with bombs! Yatsenko tries to reverse the position but Ramirez maintains control. Ramirez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ramirez putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Yatsenko is rocked! Ramirez unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Yatsenko wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Ramirez celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
