Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Theo Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Theo Lesnar has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Theo Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel David!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

David manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lesnar on his heels. He'll look to pass Lesnar's guard now, I'm sure.
David is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Lesnar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Lesnar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but David can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lesnar is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action!
David tries to free his leg and advance position but Lesnar is retaining full guard.

David got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lesnar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, David has managed to get both his arms back between Lesnar's legs - danger averted.

Lesnar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. David is aware though and is defending well.

Lesnar is refusing to be controlled, as David sits in half guard.

David passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lesnar!

Lesnar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lesnar is in a horrible position here. David smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Lesnar manages to regain half guard. Good work.

David looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Daniel David will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch but David swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

David fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lesnar sprawls well initially but David persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

David wants to work for an arm triangle but Lesnar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
David controlling the pace.
Lesnar is pressing down on David's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Lesnar is looking for a triangle but David pushes his legs off easily.
David slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lesnar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lesnar looking for a sweep. Not yet Lesnar, not yet.

Lesnar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but David can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lesnar has his foot on David's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. David works his way back into a safe position though.

Lesnar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Davidis looking to pass into half guard but Lesnar pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lesnar is in guard.
David tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lesnar prevents David from getting back to his feet.

David escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesnar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
David is breathing heavily.
David is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Lesnar wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.
David is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
David really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lesnar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Theo Lesnar.

and David counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lesnar!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Theo Lesnar will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



David closes the distance and clinches.
David gets underhooks to prevent Lesnar's takedown attempt.
Lesnar creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Lesnar is trying to pull guard but David has him pressed against the cage.

David jumps guard and drags Lesnar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lesnar wants to stand and escape but instead David has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
David wants to pass the guard but Lesnar is keeping the position.
David throws an elbow that misses. Lesnar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in David's guard. Nice move by Lesnar!

Theo Lesnar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lesnar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lesnar prevents David from getting back to his feet.
Lesnar throws a big right hand that misses.
David has momentary wrist control but Lesnar slips an elbow through the middle.
Lesnar wants to control from the top but David keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lesnar's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

David wants to sweep here but Lesnar controlling him for the moment.
David takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lesnar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

David is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Lesnar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lesnar lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lesnar trying to control but David is working from the bottom.
David has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
David is trying to keep Lesnar in close.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daniel David hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
David shoots in for a takedown but Lesnar shows good takedown defense.
Lesnar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? David is fending him off so far but Lesnar persists. Nope, David circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theo Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

David throws a right and a left that both miss.

Theo Lesnar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lesnar shoots for a double leg takedown but David sprawls well. He's pushed Lesnar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and David counters with a single leg into guard. Lesnar didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
David wants to control from the top but Lesnar keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I would just about give that final round to Daniel David.
I think David has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
