Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Suave Ripkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ewan Turnbull! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turnbull stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turnbull wants it to stay on the feet. Turnbull fails with the takedown and Ripkin counters with a three punch combo that has Turnbull backing up. Turnbull nods at Ripkin to acknowledge the strikes. Ripkin shoots in for a takedown but Turnbull shows good takedown defense. Turnbull scores with a takedown into Ripkin's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turnbull is looking to stand up but Ripkin won't let him. Ripkin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ripkin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ewan Turnbull hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ripkin with a lazy takedown attempt and Turnbull counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ripkin's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Suave Ripkin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Turnbull wants to stand but Ripkin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Turnbull stands up from Ripkin's guard - Turnbull perhaps looking for a knockout. Ripkin is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ripkin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Turnbull to the mat! Turnbull manages to get full guard. Ripkin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ripkin trying to control but Turnbull is working from the bottom. Ripkin is looking to advance position but Turnbull has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Turnbull stands up from mount. Strange move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ripkin misses with a takedown attempt and Turnbull counters with a nice double leg into guard. Turnbull wanted to stand there but Ripkin had control of the position. Turnbull must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ewan Turnbull was stalling too much, according to the referee. Ripkin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Turnbull swats him away and circles back towards the center. Turnbull stuffs the takedown attempt from Ripkin. Ripkin gets slowly back to his feet. Turnbull shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ripkin sprawls well. Ripkin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Turnbull gets slowly back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ripkin shoots in but no luck this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ewan Turnbull dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ripkin shoots for a double leg takedown but Turnbull sprawls well. He's pushed Ripkin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Turnbull tries to sprawl but Ripkin drives through with a takedown into half guard. Turnbull is trying to stand up here but Ripkin is controlling him well. Ripkin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ripkin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Turnbull defends it well. Turnbull pushes Ripkin off looking to stand but Ripkin dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ripkin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Turnbull has managed to free his arm - good work. Ripkin throws a strike but Turnbull avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Ripkin trying to control the position from guard on top but Turnbull is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Turnbull is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Turnbull is trying to drag Ripkin to the mat but Ripkin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Turnbull is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ripkin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Turnbull is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ripkin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Suave Ripkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ewan Turnbull. Ripkin gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Ripkin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Turnbull is looking to stand up but Ripkin isn't so interested in that idea. Ripkin throws a big right hand that misses. Ripkin has gone for a leg lock! Turnbull slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ripkin's guard. Turnbull is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ripkin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Turnbull avoids it really well and circles away. Ripkin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Turnbull has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ripkin is proving hard to escape from. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Suave Ripkin will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Ripkin tries to avoid it but Turnbull manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ripkin to the ground. Ripkin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Suave Ripkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ewan Turnbull. Ripkin stuffs the takedown attempt from Turnbull. Turnbull gets slowly back to his feet. Ripkin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Turnbull swivels and escapes. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Turnbull shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ripkin is trying to defend but Turnbull finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Turnbull really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ripkin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Turnbull is thwarting Ripkin's attempts to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ewan Turnbull. I think Turnbull has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
