Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brock Landers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ross has chosen Neck of the Woods as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Ross!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Landers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ross avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ross not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Landers preventing the sweep.
Ross trying to keep a closed guard but Landers is proving a slippery customer.
Landers wants to control from the top but Ross keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Ross was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Landers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ross won't be happy with that.

Landers is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ross will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Landers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ross keeps working.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ross has control of Landers's left arm, preventing Landers from doing any damage.
Ross looking to hit a scissor sweep but Landers is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Ross throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Landers counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ross thinking.
Ross scores with a jab. Landers acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Landers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Landers is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ross has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ross!

Ross thows a left - swing and a miss!

Ross tries to clinch there but Landers circles away.
Ross throws a good cross that connects.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Landers dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Landers counters with a lovely shot to the body.


It looks like Brock Landers has been cut.
Ross swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ross.
Landers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Landers scores with a shot to the body.
Ross looks to throw the jab but Landers is out of range.
Ross throws an ugly left hook that misses

Landers has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Landers throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ross because Landers loaded up on that one.
Landers misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Landers wants to control the action but instead Ross gets a body lock and reverses into Landers's guard! Nice work!
Ross throws an elbow that misses. Landers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ross's guard. Nice move by Landers!

Landers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ross throws a right hand that Landers ducks under and follows up with a left that Landers also avoids with ease.

Landers gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Brock Landers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ross throws a predictable looking body shot
and Landers counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Landers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ross cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Landers moves out of range as Ross strikes.
Landers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ross.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Landers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ross but Ross pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ross connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brock Landers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Landers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
