Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcel Dogg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Handy Gracie! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dogg fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gracie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dogg did well to prevent Gracie getting side control. Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dogg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Dogg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Dogg is defending well.
Gracie sitting and controlling from the half guard. Let's hope that Gracie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Dogg won't allow Gracie to pass to mount. Well, if Gracie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Handy Gracie. Dogg plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Dogg tries a head kick but it misses.
A slapping body kick lands there for Dogg. Gracie scores a takedown into full mount! Gracie wants to control the pace but Dogg is squirming around nicely. Gracie has hold of Dogg's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dogg manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dogg tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Gracie breaks from Dogg's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gracie is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gracie extends the arm and Dogg is forced to tap!
