Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Summit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Javier Melendez!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summit fails with a takedown attempt.
Summit tries for a takedown but Melendez circles away easily

and Melendez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Summit's guard.
Melendez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Melendez trying to control the position from guard on top but Summit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Melendez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Summit can't keep his opponent in guard - Melendez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Melendez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Melendez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Summit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Melendez on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Melendez passes to full mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Melendez trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Summit wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Melendez.
Melendez is landing with some decent strikes but Summit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Melendez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Melendez has hold of Summit's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Summit manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Summit is trying to escape the mount but Melendez keeps good control and instead manages to take Summit's back.

Melendez is cranking Summit's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Summit! He's tightened the choke and Summit is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Javier Melendez!
