Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dean Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shigeo Miyato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Stevens!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Shigeo Miyato!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyato dives in and grabs Stevens's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stevens pushes down on Miyato's head and hops out.
Miyato slips a jab from Stevens.
Miyato checks a leg kick nicely.
Stevens throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Stevens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miyato manages to avoid it.
Miyato shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Stevens counters with a big head kick but Miyato shrugs it off.
Miyato tries for a takedown but Stevens circles away easily
and Stevens counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dean Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shigeo Miyato.
Stevens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stevens thows a body shot but no joy.
Stevens leaves Miyato with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stevens lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Stevens loads up on a big right hand but Miyato slips the punch.
Miyato avoids a kick to the body.
Miyato takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
An inside leg kick lands from Stevens.
Stevens turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Stevens pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stevens tries a body shot but Miyato blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stevens tries to land a knee to the head but Miyato blocks with his arms.
Miyato is trying to pull guard but Stevens has him pressed against the cage.

Miyato has picked Stevens up - he's going for a ride! Miyato dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Miyato wants to work for an arm triangle but Stevens is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Stevens is defending against the submission attempts here by Miyato.
Stevens moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miyato drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stevens dives on top into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stevens chips away with some ground and pound.
Stevens not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Stevens connects with a couple of short punches.
Stevens looking to pass the guard.

Miyato is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.
Stevens postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Miyato is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stevens is aware though and is defending well.

Stevens is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Miyato is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Miyato keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stevens controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Miyato is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.
Stevens scoring with punches to the head and body.
Stevens is in close to Miyato's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Miyato has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stevens controls from within his opponent's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Miyato looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stevens's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Stevens dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Miyato blocks the body kick.
Miyato misses with a takedown attempt
and Stevens counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Stevens dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Miyato. That did some damage!
Miyato closes the distance and clinches up with Stevens, looking for a takedown. Miyato pushes Stevens against the cage but Stevens circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stevens moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Shigeo Miyato has been cut.
Stevens jabs Miyato to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A big head kick from Stevens and Miyato is sent sprawling to the canvas!


Miyato is rocked!
Miyato looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stevens puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Stevens scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Miyato is still in real trouble! Can Stevens finish him?
Stevens controlling the action here.
Stevens lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Stevens is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Miyato is hurt! He's hurt bad - Stevens fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Miyato from any more punishment! Congratulations to Stevens! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Stevens!
