Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Erwin Tulfo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bo Ridley!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tulfo throws a series of punches but Ridley moves out of range.
A clash of legs there as Tulfo blocks the low kick.
Tulfo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ridley.
Tulfo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tulfo digs a good body shot into Ridley's ribs.
Ridley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tulfo swivels and escapes.
Erwin Tulfo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bo Ridley.
Ridley looks winded!
Ridley misses with a double jab.
Tulfo feints a jab promting Ridley to slip. Tulfo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ridley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Bo Ridley has been cut.
Ridley tries for a takedown but Tulfo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Tulfo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tulfo lunges at Ridley with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ridley's hand.
Tulfo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jab, jab by Tulfo - just one landing.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tulfo, right into the meat.
Tulfo scores with a hook to the body. Ridley takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tulfo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tulfo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ridley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Tulfo connects with a jab.
Tulfo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A punch combination from Tulfo misses.
Tulfo feints and then cracks Ridley's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ridley down.
Ridley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Left hook, right uppercut from Tulfo.
Tulfo lands a head shot.
Tulfo thumps Ridley with a low kick.
Good leg kick by Tulfo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ridley takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Tulfo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Tulfo lands a big head kick that sends Ridley tumbling to the mat! Tulfo takes a step backwards and waves Ridley back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Ridley is rocked!
Tulfo batters Ridley with a massive right followed by a huge left! Ridley is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Tulfo lands a final crushing right hand to drop Ridley to the mat with a gruesome thud! Tulfo is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Erwin Tulfo!
