Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rogers Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yu Wi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson pushes Wi up against the cage in a clinch.
Nelson pushes Wi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Wi tries for a takedown but Nelson manages to get underhooks.

Nelson breaks from the clinch.

Nelson moves into the clinch.
Wi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nelson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Wi misses the jab.
Nelson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wi misses with a double jab.
Nelson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nelson wants it to stay on the feet.
Rogers Nelson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yu Wi.
Wi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nelson tries to avoid it but Wi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nelson to the ground. Nelson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Donk. Nelson catches Wi right on the button with a cross.
Nelson throws a good cross that connects.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nelson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Wi shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Nelson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wi throwing shots but Nelson is blocking nicely.
Nelson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nelson controlling the position well.
Nelson is looking to control Wi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nelson avoid being mounted?
Wi prevents Nelson from standing back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Rogers Nelson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nelson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Wi with a lazy takedown attempt
and Nelson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


Wi is rocked!
Wi seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Nelson shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Wi is backing up but Nelson catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Wi covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Nelson Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rogers Nelson!
A very excited looking Rogers Nelson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
