Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pat Sumrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Gomez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Pat Sumrall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 23 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumrall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gomez circles away quickly and effectively.
Left hook, right uppercut from Sumrall.
Gomez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sumrall connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gomez scrambles back to his feet.
Gomez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Gomez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sumrall, pushing him back against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sumrall.
Sumrall lands an elbow inside that Gomez shrugs off.
Gomez is looking for a takedown.
Sumrall scores with a nice hook to the head.
Sumrall tries a knee to the head but Gomez blocks it.
Sumrall is pressed up against the cage. Gomez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sumrall down to the mat. Sumrall avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gomez shoots in and drives through. Sumrall sprawls well.
Pat Sumrall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Gomez.

Gomez wants the takedown. Sumrall is fighting it off but Gomez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sumrall's guard against the cage.

Gomez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sumrall knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gomez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sumrall avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gomez gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sumrall regains guard.
Sumrall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gomez is one step ahead there.
Gomez trying to control the position from guard on top but Sumrall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sumrall pulls Gomez in close to prevent any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Pat Sumrall will probably get the nod.

Sumrall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gomez manages to avoid it.
Sumrall misses with a jab, cross combination.

Sumrall wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gomez has a takedown stuffed.

Gomez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gomez showed some decent athleticism there.

Still in half guard, Gomez seems content to control.

Gomez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sumrall has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sumrall pushes Gomez off looking to stand but Gomez dives back in and keeps control.

Gomez is taking a breather. Sumrall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sumrall moves into full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Gomez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sumrall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gomez defends it easily.
Gomez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sumrall swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sumrall wants to sweep but no luck.
Sumrall is working hard here to advance position.
Sumrall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gomez manages to get himself to full guard.

Gomez kicks Sumrall off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gomez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sumrall on his heels. He'll look to pass Sumrall's guard now, I'm sure.

Pat Sumrall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sumrall is fending him off so far but Gomez persists. Nope, Sumrall circles away and we're back to standing.
