Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mickey Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Beto Tedeschi!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tedeschi has closed the distance and engaged Ward in a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tedeschi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Tedeschi has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ward clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
I really don't envy Ward right now.

Ward is stalling here. Tedeschi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ward seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tedeschi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mickey Ward will probably get the nod.

Mickey Ward overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ward really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ward tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ward has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ward, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
