Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Koenig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gus Solonik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gustavo Koenig! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gus Solonik! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koenig throws a series of punches but Solonik moves out of range. Solonik fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Koenig doesn't manage to clinch there - Solonik circles away.
Good shot there by Solonik. Gustavo Koenig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Solonik keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Koenig. Solonik shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Koenig but Koenig pushes him off and we're back to square one. Koenig misses with a jab, cross combination.
Koenig misses with an uppercut. Koenig lands a big right hand that sends Solonik crashing to the mat! Koenig stays standing though and waves Solonik back to his feet!
Solonik is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! That's one minute gone in the round. Solonik lands with a nice combination. Koenig backs away looking to recover. Koenig misses with an uppercut
and Solonik makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Koenig really felt that one! Koenig moves in looking to clinch but Solonik pushes him off. Solonik tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Koenig swivels and escapes. Gustavo Koenig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gus Solonik. Koenig stuffs the takedown attempt from Solonik. Solonik gets slowly back to his feet. Koenig fails with an attempt to clinch.

Koenig cracks Solonik with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Koenig has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Solonik to stand back up! Solonik is still on wobbly legs! Can Koenig finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Koenig rushes Solonik and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Koenig swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Solonik drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Koenig gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Koenig tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Solonik's elbow. Solonik seems to have recovered his senses. Solonik is trying desperately to land a takedown but Koenig is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Solonik.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Solonik tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Koenig blocks a body shot from Solonik. Solonik lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Solonik can't find room to land a body shot as Koenig controls the action.
Solonik has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Koenig regains guard immediately. Solonik drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Koenig manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Solonik has Koenig in his guard. Koenig stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Solonik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Solonik looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Solonik had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Koenig defends it easily. Solonik working for a triangle but Koenig defends it easily.
Solonik throws his legs up looking for a submission but Koenig uses it to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Koenig lands a few punches from side control. Solonik regains half guard. Solonik with the active half guard here but Koenig passes nicely into side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Koenig in side control, throwing shots but Solonik defends. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Solonik makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Koenig uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Solonik.
Solonik scores with a jab to the body. Koenig throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Solonik shoots in for a takedown but Koenig shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Koenig tries to clinch there but Solonik circles away.
Solonik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Koenig as he avoids it easily. Koenig rushes Solonik and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Solonik pushes off an throws an elbow but Koenig leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Solonik goes for a takedown attempt but Koenig pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gustavo Koenig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gus Solonik. Koenig stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Koenig wants it to stay on the feet.

Koenig loads up on a big right hand but Solonik slips the punch. Solonik misses the shot to the body. Some bone on bone action there as Koenig checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Koenig looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Solonik tries for a takedown but Koenig sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Solonik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Koenig.

and Solonik counters with a left and a right that stings Koenig. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Solonik takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Koenig throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Solonik counters with a three punch combo that has Koenig backing up. Koenig nods at Solonik to acknowledge the strikes. Koenig shoots in but no luck this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Solonik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Koenig looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Koenig on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Koenig tries to get out of the position. Solonik prevents Koenig from escaping the position. Solonik tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Koenig is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Solonik swings around for an armbar but Koenig sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Solonik's guard. Solonik is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koenig with a nice head shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Gus Solonik will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Solonik manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Solonik is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Solonik slips a jab and a cross from Koenig.
That's one minute gone in the round. Solonik closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Koenig quickly recovers to half guard. Koenig tries to get to full guard but Solonik has control of the leg. Solonik is looking for a kimura here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Solonik sitting in guard here, content to control. Koenig wants to get back to his feet but Solonik is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Koenig controlling Solonik's posture.

Solonik shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Koenig defends it nicely. Solonik takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A combination from Koenig does no damage.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gus Solonik. I think Solonik has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
