And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tap Taparoo!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall shoots for a takedown but Taparoo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Taparoo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Taparoo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hall trying to control the position from guard on top but Taparoo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Taparoo tries to roll over but Hall keeps him under control.

Taparoo is looking for a sweep. Hall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Taparoo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Taparoo is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Hall pulls his head out easily.
Hall takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Taparoo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hall is keen to just control but Taparoo is a slippery customer.
Hall is breathing heavily.
Taparoo wants to improve his position but Hall is controlling well.
Taparoo looks like he's trying to stand up.

Taparoo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Taparoo is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Hall pulls his head out easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Hall looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taparoo!

Hall is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Hall scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hall is looking to take a break and control but Taparoo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hall decides to stand back up. Hall steps back and let's Taparoo get back to his feet.
Taparoo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Hall counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
